DOGS

Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade

Oct. 24 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Whether you miss your dog, or you’re rich enough to own your own dog, this is the perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of dogs in costume romping around Tompkins Square…shit is guaranteed to get weird. This sounds like a very bad or very good acid trip, I haven’t decided.

APPLES & PUMPKINS

Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you’re ready to sign yourself up for an adventure this one’s for you. Applewood Orchards and Winery is located in Warwick, NY. You can access it by zipcar (New School offers a discount) or by a public transport/taxi combination. They come equipt with all of the various farm essentials- pumpkin patches, sheep and a small general store that sells jam. Roll around in the grass, breathe in fresh air, and munch on fruit. Yum.
