New York Fashion Week never fails to serve up an absurd amount of lusted after looks, and those showcased at Spring/Summer ‘17 were no different. Dishing out for runway looks can really bust your budget, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sport the same looks while counting your pennies! We selected a handful of the best outfits from NYFW and re-created affordable, ready-to-wear looks.
The model sports a cheetah print coat, minimal grey dress, double buckle belt and black boots. “I am more interested in style than fashion,” Ford said post show we kept that in mind when recreating this look. Get the look of Scarlett Kim, a sophomore fashion design student at Parsons:
Coat: L.A.M.B, bought secondhand from Beacon’s Closet – $65
Midi dress: T.J Maxx – $25
Buckle belt: Urban Outfitters – $13
Suede platform boots: Missguided – $40
Total: $143
Designer Chris Leba of R13 knows New Yorkers, specifically punk kids who can be found lingering on the streets of St. Mark’s Place. The model wears an oversized graphic tee, layered chokers and buckled boots. Here’s how Scarlett Kim steals the look:
Oversized 2Pac T-shirt: Goodwill – $7
Black choker: Brandy Melville – $8
Rhinestone dog collar: Search & Destroy – $20
Boots: Frye Company, secondhand Beacon’s Closet: – $65

New York City’s SoHo-based collective, VFILES, never fails to bring spunk to Fashion Week. We recreated this look with more affordable options, but with the same edge. Here’s how Sarah Nekoufar, a senior interdisciplinary science major at Lang, got the look:
Shirt: DIY hand painted Gap button up – $10
Denim skirt: Pacsun, decorated with patches from The Vintage twin – $18
Shoes: Zara – $45

Represented by three designers from the Korea Creative Content Agency , the show features many ‘70s-inspired looks that worked the runway. This denim on denim look totally gave us the Britney to Justin inspo we needed. Sarah Nekoufar did it again:
Button up: H&M – $13
Pants: Goodwill – $7
Bandana: Levi’s – $10
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell from Buffalo Exchange – $25
Total: $55
Despite models practically melting down the runway, bad babe Teyana Taylor pulled through and convinced us there was more fire to the look than just the sun. Taylor-Alex Hayden, junior at Lang, re-created the “I-just-came-from-the-aerobics-class-and-threw-on-some-heels” look.
Leggings: Goodwill – $8
Cardigan: Urban Outfitters – $35
Swim Top: Beacon’s Closet – $8
Boots: Free People – $75
