The Annual Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade In Photos

Every October, thousands of dog lovers flock to lower Manhattan for the Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade. A must see event of the Halloween season, the annual event creates a safe space for puppies to let their alter-ego freak flags shine, showing off some of the cutest and most creative costumes you’ve seen in your entire life.

The event is covered by a variety of news outlets. CNN calls it “the largest dog costume parade in the world.” With tons of dogs and owners in attendance, the parade hosts contests for competing pairs with winnings adding up to thousands of dollars in prize money.

Today’s festivity was the 26th year of the parade and was sponsored by Purina Beggin’— and it was nothing short of legendary. From big dogs to little dogs and from old dogs to young dogs, take a look at some of the hilarious and adorable pooch outfits of the day caught by the New School Free Press Photo Editor, Julia Himmel. You won’t be able to keep yourself from speaking in a high pitch voice and saying ‘awwwwwwwh’.
