Scream: 20th Anniversary Halloween Party

If you are a scary movie buff it’s likely that you probably are a fan of the cult classic, Scream. This horror blockbuster celebrates it’s 20th birthday this year, giving you an excuse to party like it’s 1996. Enjoy 90’s hit music and themed prizes as well as blast from the past horror movie trailers and horror themed trivia. For horror movie lovers, this $5 event is necessary. Tickets can be found here.

Bowery Slam Halloween

Monday is Bowery Poetry’s signature day of poetry shows with tickets for the Slam only $10 being sold here. This is the new generation of slam, with host Ashley August and DJ Flip Bundlez. Bowery Poetry aims to to develop and produce works by upcoming, emerging poets and performers and to promote the exploration of the arts as a change making force in society. Bowery Slam is a safe space to spend Halloween this year, wear a costume to receive snacks and get half price admission at the door.

Village Halloween Parade

Monday, October 31 at 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Only those in costume are welcome to join the creepiest parade that New York has to offer. With hundreds of different puppets, 53 live bands playing a variety of different genres, dancers, artists, and thousands of the best costumed New Yorkers.

If you would like to join the parade, you must be in costume and line up to walk between 6:30 and 8:30 pm at 6th ave and Canal Street.

Harry Potter BOOK Trivia

Hannibal Buress: The Hannibal Montanabal Experience

Friday, November 4 at 8:00 pm

As part of New York Comedy Festival Hannibal Buress will be performing at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Buress is a popular comedian, actor, and writer and is one of Comedy Central’s breakout comedians. The New York Times called him one of the most “supremely gifted and respected” comics around. He’s had a national stand up comedy tour as well as written for SNL and 30 Rock. He also currently stars in multiple comedy shows on both Comedy Central and Netflix. This will be a night full of laughter that you won’t regret attending, tickets are less expensive than you would expect ranging from about $30 – $60 and can be found here.
