Snow Day Closing Creates Confusion At Parsons Paris

Published

The New School sent out a university-wide alert stating the school would be closed Thursday. However the alert didn’t specify which campuses were affected by the closure, leaving some students confused and disappointed.

Though it was likely clear to The New School community members at the New York campus why the closure occurred — NYC is currently being blasted with snow — students at the Paris campus didn’t have much of a clue as to what was going on.

Some students studying at Parsons Paris expressed their confusion on Twitter.

New York City is under a winter storm warning and is expected to have snow accumulations of 10 to 14 inches, according to the National Weather Service. The current weather in Paris is 42 degrees Fahrenheit and partly cloudy, with little to no chance of precipitation.

The Paris campus is not closed, to the dismay of some students.

The New School’s status page, which includes details on the winter storm, states, “We anticipate returning to regular hours on Friday, but please monitor our communications via this page and our Twitter account.”
