Everything You Need to Know about Beyoncé’s “Formation Scholars” Program

This week Beyoncé selected Parsons and three other schools to offer a new scholarship program to called the “Formation Scholars,” for female students pursuing creative arts. The award is a one-time $25,000 scholarship to further their studies.

More details have been announced on the Parsons website, including how to apply.

Here’s what you need to know:  

Eligibility: Open to all full-time female Parsons students pursuing creative arts which “includes but is not limited to fashion design, painting, photography, sculpture, interior design, graphic design, ceramics, and design and technology,” according to the site.

According to Parsons, the criteria is:

  • Students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Students may be incoming degree-seeking students or current undergraduate, graduate, or Associate’s Degree (AAS) students attending full-time.
  • Students must present proof of work in the field of creative arts. Incoming students must submit proof of work within the creative arts, as well as high school papers or community activities that demonstrate work in the field.
  • Work must be shown in an electronic portfolio.
  • Students must also submit a short essay stating how LEMONADE inspired their educational goals.
