Profiled: A Black History Month Celebration

In a comedy show hosted by writer/actor/comedian Marcela Onyango, comics unpack racial profiling in an attempt to destigmatize conversations about race. February’s show is a special black history edition of Profiled, where the comedians will discuss topics from mass incarceration to the war on drugs. Marcela Onyango is joined by guest co-host Andrea Coleman, comedian and attorney, and comedians Kenice Mobley, Sharon Paul, Ariel Evans, and Khalid Rahmaan. 21+.

Exiles on 12th Street Launch Party

Athena Film Festival at Barnard College showcases films featuring diverse female stories. The Athena Film Festival is the only film festival “specifically focused on women’s leadership,” according to the organizers.

Andy Warhol After Pop
Time: Day One: 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Day Two: 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Location: 66 West 12th Street, The New School Auditorium
Price: Free, registration required.
Focusing on Andy Warhol’s later works, this two-day event features scholars, curators and artists to discuss Warhol’s work in conjunction with “Andy Warhol–from A to B and Back Again.” The Warhol exhibition has been featured at the Whitney Museum since November 12th, and closes on March 31st. The event is co-organized by the Whitney Museum and Eugene Lang College.
