The New School Presents: Strokes of Genius

Get inspired by your own community. The New School’s collaborative spirit across disciplines of designers, scholars, artists, and performers manifests as an ephemeral installation beneath the Manhattan Bridge in DUMBO. A multimedia phenomenon “designed to spark creativity and unlock new possibilities and epitomize our community’s excellence,” is open and free to all.

PAWS NY Volunteer Orientation
Monday, September 26th @ 6:00pm-7:30pm
Missing your furry friend from home? Volunteer to help pet owners who are struggling to care for their animals and get in some pet therapy in the process of helping those in need. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one visit per week for a minimum six months. Be sure to bring a copy of a photo ID if interested in volunteering. Light snacks and beverages will be provided!

Fall Career Expo

It’s that time of year again. Career Services is hosting their semi-annual Career Expo. This Tuesday is the second day of the three-part expo and hosts The Fashion Career Fair and The Design Fair. This week will feature employers seeking students and alumni with fashion and design backgrounds. You will have the opportunity to network with 30 employees in one day. Bring a lot of copies of your résumé!

National Coffee Day by TOMS

We are well into the point in the semester when students are living off of coffee instead of sleep. This Thursday is National Coffee Day, so TOMS shoes is giving away the free caffeinated drink with different coffee tastings, latte art, and information on how TOMS coffee provides safe drinking water for people in need with WaterAid.

The Lagunitas Beer Circus

Come in costume and “see things you can’t unsee” at this 21+ circus spectacular event that will bring you back to your childhood with a sick twist. There will be “two stages of entertainment, with 100+ performers providing freaktacular entertainment including; All Star bands and once in a lifetime collaborations of national and local acts! Plus burlesque, sideshow acts, aerialists and other things that cannot be unseen!”
